Shoreline - Broder Daniel (About Swedish Poppare Culture)

Several months ago I found a girl in the fashion community Lookbook fascinated me. Her real name is Towe, but her nickname is Pandawhore, and soon I started to follow her blog, fascinated by her beauty and style.

I guess, after seeing this first picture, you will understand my fascination: that bouffant hair, sinister style of the 80s but with a perfect shaped bob, the impending monochrome outfit, makeup ... What was this? Where did it come from?
The answer came recently to me from the hand of Pandasoppa (Agnes), a Swedish thug lolita that I really love and who looked before as a Panda Poppare, the name of this Swedish subculture. The '90s was quite confusing in general aesthetic levels, but in Sweden, there was a teenager movement based on the music of Swedish indie bands such as Kent, Håkan Hellström, Mando Diao (minor) and, above all, Broder Daniel, from where the poppares take the aesthetic inspiration of drawing stars under her eyes, as Henrik Berggren used to do.

It's funny 'cause I've been listening to Broder Daniel for a long time now, but I never stumbled into this subculture before, so bad for me :(!

They are also heavily influenced by the mods and slightly romantic air expressed in peter pan style collars often look in their dresses and blouses. The most used colours are white, black and sometimes red (in fact, part of why they are known as 'Pandas' is to use black and white in their clothing), and are inspired by the makeups that Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton used to wear in the 60s, with false eyelashes. Also, as I mentioned before, the most impressive of the look is her hair, that 'fake bob' fully carding yet perfectly curved and hairstyle.

Sadly, as the own Agnes (Pandasoppa) comments on the Tumblr dedicated to Poppare Panda, is that most of these people are no longer within the movement, and today is reduced to only a few brave (as Towe).

Anyway, a couple of weekends ago I tried to make my own tribute to these gorgeous girls (I really love the way they all look, seriously) but I failed miserably when trying combed hair ... I have too much, too long! Even with tutorial videos, I think I need some advice for improving this (as of course, I'll try to do it again).

We were painting our house, so it was a little mess everywhere you looked... Anyway, all the things I was wearing are really old: the pinafore dress was from Zara, ages ago. The t-shirt and tights are from H&M and the shoes were off-brand... and I talk in past 'cause they died that night :(!! They were really old, like 10 years or more (in some way they're almost my first Lolita shoes).

So, did you know about this subculture? What do you think about them?

Pudding

Pudding is one of the newest places I've discovered around Barcelona. Micky showed it to me a couple of weeks ago and I'm in totally love with it.

Pudding es uno de los sitios nuevos que he descubierto en Barcelona. Micky me lo enseñó hace un par de semanas y estoy totalmente enamorada del lugar.

When you go there for the first time, the first thing you think is a magical circus, as the tent roof is inspired on that; but also you can visualize what looks like trees ... : An enchanted forest? A dream of Amelie Poulain?

Cuando entras allí en lo primero que piensas es en un circo mágico, ya que la carpa del techo tiene ésa inspiración, pero a la vez visualizas lo que parecen árboles... ¿un bosque encantado? ¿Un sueño de Amelié Poulain?

I was last Monday with Evangeline there and she really loved the place!

A real dream location halfway between Alice in Wonderland and Oz, the place Where the Wild Things Are. Pudding is like stepping into a story to have adventures in good company.

Un auténtico lugar de ensueño a camino entre Alicia en el País de las Maravillas y Oz; el lugar Donde Viven los Monstruos... Pudding es como entrar en un cuento para tener aventuras en buena compañía.

And the food... yummy! It's delicious! Great cakes, sweet teas and natural juices, milkshakes... everything looks and tastes better in a magical place, you know, right?

Y la comida... qué decir! Geniales pasteles, dulces tés y zumos naturales, batidos... todo se ve y sabe mejor en un lugar mágico, ¿lo sabíais?

Pudding is at Barcelona, on Pau Claris nº 90; near of Pl. Catalunya (about 5 minutes walking).

Pudding está en Barcelona, en la calle Pau Claris nº 90, cerca de Plaça Catalunya (a unos 5 minutos caminando).

My outfit for that special day:
Shirt - Mango (old)
Skirt - Putumayo
Belt - Topshop
Tights - Madame Chocolat
Shoes - Kling
Flower - H&M

I couldn't sleep

Hi everyone.

First of all, I would like to say something: the world is going insane, and I'm very worried about that. What happened in Norway, UK, Siria... what's happening in my own country... well, all these things have been causing me to not sleep too well at night (besides a cold that has kept me with a fever for three weeks).

Meanwhile, 15M Spain is still struggling trying to change the world, though at times I find it a complicated task, but my will to keep fighting no self-conscious at all. That's why I've been so disconnected these past few days.

But on Sunday I'm flying home for two weeks, and I'll be working hard too there, but besides my family... I miss them so much.

Anyway, I just wanna show you some random pics from the past few weeks. I've got some more for another entry; I hope you all like them!

Me with my coolhunting certification. Yes, finally, I've got it!

Interview: Elsa Billgren (Need help dressing?), the redish vintage queen.

I'm so happy today about sharing this interview to all of you because Elsa is one of my muses. I love her not only for being the most beautiful reddish girl around the net but also because of her love for vintage clothes, especially dresses.

Elsa is a gorgeous woman who works for Beyond Retro, writes for Swedish Elle Magazine and has a program in the Swedish tv, where you can see her showing some amazing vintage shops.

She was recently married to a handsome man who makes her always smile, the wolf -as she likes to call him-; and I can assure you that her wedding was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen.

As you can see, I don't have words for saying how amazing I think Elsa is... but...

Interview: Aya Smith (Strawberry Koi); cuteness, vintage and country life.

So here you've got, another interview from the ones I made for my final project. I've decided that, once a week, I'll publish one of them, so you can enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them... hope you like it!

When I first started blogging, a long time ago; one of the first persons I totally fell in love with was Aya, from Strawberry Koi. Her lovely style, full of vintage clothes; her natural form of being, simply adorable... Aya is not a person who likes to pretend something; she's so true as you can read on her posts, full of lovely stories and dreams. Her passion for vintage clothes and a romantic style makes her one of the most beloved bloggers right now...

Mr. Schuman at Santa Eulalia: Sahakiel meets Scott.

"I believe that bloggers have a brilliant future in the fashion industry, but only if they've got something interesting to say about the world."

The Final Countdown.

First of all, sorry for being a bad blogger the last few days, and sorry for the days that are coming; my mom is here and I want to spend some time with her, but don't worry, next Thursday you'll recover the normal activity of my blog :)

Some changes are coming in my life; I need a job so much and I'm searching for it... so cross your fingers for me, please!

In other ways, and with this epic title I write here today to announce the theme of my final work of the postgraduate. Finally, we're changing it, and I'll not do the work about Barcelona. Instead of it, I'll treat something that it's quite interesting:

How fashion bloggers influence the current fashion world?

As you all may know by now, Forever 21 has made a collection of t-shirt inspired by some bloggers. Modcloth creates a dress inspired by their devotes bloggers. Tavi changes the rules of being a fashion blogger too... so I think this phenomenon is quite interesting.

And of course, I WANT YOUR OPINIONS about this. So if you have any idea, suggestion or whatever you want to say, please; e-mail me or write it here. I'm quite busy these days and I've got some correspondence pending of an answer, sorry! But I promise I'll write you all back as soon as I can.

Do you think this is an interesting report? I think so!

The girl who came from Amsterdam (part II of a little Amsterdam's guide)

My second day at Amsterdam started really early in my bedroom... at 7 o'clock in the morning I woke up and dressed up for having a walk before breakfast!

I wish I would know that I didn't need my sunglasses...

The girl who came from Amsterdam (part I of a little Amsterdam's guide)

So I'm back, it's been short but very intense... and of course, with thousands of pictures, I've made for all of you! I've discovered some great places for eating, having a coffee (and NOT the usual coffee-shop), buy cute clothes or original things... so let's start!! And be prepared for a huge bunch of pictures... you're gonna meet Amsterdam through my eyes!

Interview: Maria Confer (Lulu Letty), cute drawings, handmade bows and red lips with a vintage style.

I could say lots of things about Maria: as a blogger, as the designer of lovely handmade bows, as a woman with a great style or as a drawer... but first of all, I consider Maria as a friend. And I want to say that because, when I started blogging, for me, was strange get in touch with a person that is miles and miles away from me, a person I haven't met in person. But Maria gives you confidence and friendship with her kind comments and appreciations.

I can't remember when I started to follow Maria, but I read her blog every single day. I love her posts about DIY, music (she's got an excellent taste), outfits, drawings and outfits; and how she shares her life piece by piece with us.

So, I'm sure you all know some things about Maria, that vintage lover who makes lovely drawings of herself, dogs or gorgeous people... but...

Who's Maria Confer?

Interview: Dennis Swiatkowski, Get Your Plane Right on Time... and the city lights.

When I decided to make a series of interviews, I was clear from the beginning that I wanted to interview Dennis. People like him expand the vision of fashion on the street and created art to have an account, and art that we create every day in front of our closet, and later, people like him that are on the street, think that are worthy admire.

Dennis prints magic on his photos, I do not know how, but I do watch them capture the essence of the person shown in it. I suppose there are some people blessed with a gift for capturing people through a camera, and Dennis is for me one of those people; The Man From Amsterdam, the man who shows us the world through his eyes...

I really think we need people like Dennis in the world. People who show us the beauty of it through their eyes, dreamy, magical and mysterious. People who, through their work, remind us that man is a being fabulous, full of creativity, vitality and able to build beautiful things. For me, the work done by Dennis expresses all this and more with his photos, as he shows us glimpses of the world around us, a world full of a beautiful life.

But... who's Dennis Swiatkowski?

Interview: Elin Jönsson (Elinkan), the sweetest perfection.

All of you know that I simply adore Elin. I've been following her for about two years and thanks to her, I'm in love with her country just a little bit more with every entry, making me wish that the time for moving into Sweden (one of my dreams) arrives soon. I'm in love with dreams, and she makes me dream more and more every time I visit her blog. I'm in love with her lovely smile, the one that makes me smile too.

Elin shows us the simple and lovely things of life, adorning her post with beautiful pictures that normally makes her look like a lovely fairy, and the world around her looks like an enchanted dream.

I had the pleasure of asking Elin some questions about her, so we can all know her a little bit better, and she has responded to me in that magic way that she does things, so...

Who's Elin?

Interview: Emma Åvall (Requiem pour un con), a modern mod between us.

Due to my classes, I must do some interviews to people who I admire or think that are interesting; so after doing them, I asked the interviewee if I can publish here my work... so, if everything goes alright, you'll see some nice interviews around here! For some people, I would follow like some questionnaire I made...

And today, I want to start with the gorgeous Emma Åvall, one of my muses!

The great Serge Gainsbourg wrote songs that inspired many people. One of these songs, in particular, inspired just someone who, perhaps unwittingly, turn inspires hundreds of people daily.

The person I'm talking about is called Emma and is a lovely Swedish girl who lives in Göteborgt. I discovered almost by chance, leaping through the network, and fell in love with her wonderful style and simplicity with which he recounts her life, concerns and passions. I love that she shared her inspiration with us, which we feel inspired too, and show us the world through her big blue eyes with the pictures she takes.

As you open her blog you realize that Emma loves everything about the sixties, and looking at a picture of her, that impression becomes a reality ... but ... Who is Emma Åvall?

Wake up, little sparrow.

This week I have more work than I thought I would have, and on the one hand, I love it because I'm having a streak of insomnia and I can at least be entertained by doing things ... but on the other ... I need to sleep!

Also, I wanted to tell you that last Tuesday I made the exposition of the photos of my work, and seems to have liked in general. So, as I know you like them, I leave the pictures of looks that had not previously uploaded to the blog for you to enjoy them; and please, give me your opinion!

Some of my classwork...

As you know, I'm doing a Coolhunting course, and last week our teacher told us that we should go around the city and catch some cool looks and places of Barcelona... so I'm showing you some of my pictures!!
