#FREEPUSSYRIOT

Today I want to send my support to Pussy Riot, the Russian punk band which the Russian government has brutally cut freedom of expression.

Today democracy dies a little more on this planet. Today we know our rights, which The Clash sang.

Freedom of expression should by now, be a right in this world, not a luxury of the wealthy and corrupt politicians.

Fuck the Royalty.

So yes, while the world was crazy about the Royal UK wedding, I was around Barcelona with my mum and her boyfriend, who came here for the weekend!

This Drama

About This Drama:

"Yes, you know how it works. The beginning, the process, the magic... boring. Then, the promo stuff, the product, the lie. Man, being in a rock'n'roll band is really cool.
This Drama has been out there for a while. Born and raised on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic, we all meet when we were young, at shows, rehearsals, spending our time together in some shitty bands. Sweet.
We have put out a few records and cd's, done some tours, cancelled a couple of shows including a hippy summertime festival. We have played for 25000 people. We have played for 3 people. You all should have seen us play. Always exhausted. We used to wish it would never end.
Many people love what we do. Most hate it. We do not give a shit about 'the scene', about 'the kids'. Yes, especially those wearing their own band t-shirts.

So what are we? what do we do now? The music will flow.

Fuck your local scene. Or something."

Punk or mod? Why not both?

Last Saturday I did two things that were so opposite, but both were related to music.

Because If I can't dance, I don't want your revolution...

I think that everybody around here knows about my love for Sweden, almost since I was a child. But the point of this is that, with the past of the time, I've discovered that some of my very favourite bands are Swedish too... so this is a short list I've made for you with them!

Some kind of bohemian night...?

Hi there to you all! Are you enjoying your weekend? I hope so!

Yesterday morning I went to work, as always, and nothing interesting happened there except that in the early morning, at home, I found some beautiful high-heeled boots that I have for some time and hardly used... so I decided to start using them!

T-shirt - Zara (I've cut the neck!)
Skirt - Bershka (very old! But I love it!)
Socks - claire's
Boots - Blanco
Navy Brooche - La virgen de los broches
Pins on the skirt - Offbrand

Then, at night, I had dinner with my dear Jairo and later picked up Mary in his house for a try of a bohemian trip to the beach ... although from the photos, and you can see that was anything but bohemian!

We had a lovely night!

And this is what I was wearing:

Mad Sin's t-shirt - Bought at Sziget
Skirt - Sexy Dynamite London
Leggings - Zara
Boots - Mustang
Headscarf - Offbrand

And today I went to my grandparents' house for lunch with them again tonight with my people go ... What we expect today?

Hello Kitty pink leopard t-shirt - H&M (it's from a pyjama!)
Broken grey jeans - Zara
Cute cherry pink socks - Oysho
Black platforms - Offbrand (I cannot live without them!)
Sex pistol's bag - Fnac
Pink leopard hair click - H&M (a present from María!)

Have a nice Saturday night!

Weekend!

Last weekend I had a lot of fun! Since Thursday, I haven't stopped at home!

On Thursday night I had the t-shirt customization workshop, do you remember? Well, I forgot to show you this lovely cap I've made for my friend Vic!

It contains a rainbow, some stars, hearts, spirals and a lovely pirate bunny! I love that kind of design, so colourful and cute!

Then on Friday evening, I saw "Across the Universe", a lovely film; and later I had dinner with my friend Rose. We went to Foster's, we love that restaurant and we're bigger fans of their burgers; you know, once a month is ok for us, but... yaw!! I choose the Grand Chef burger, it's my favourite one!!

That night I was wearing my handmade t-shirt, I was in a punk mood that day!

On Saturday, we went to the cinema just to see "Brüno", it was quite funny and we had lots of laughs... OMG! That film is soooo brave!! I wear my customize Bodyline skirt with an Alice in wonderland t-shirt; Alice and the pirates' socks and my new white tea party shoes!

My tea party shoes are so comfortable, I really love them!!

And finally, yesterday I was at Tarifa, at my uncle's house. I love that house because he collects vintage things, so I took some pictures of cute things.

Oh, yes, we had coffee in those lovely cups!! Aren't they cool?

One thing more: do you see that "island" on the horizon? it's not an island, it's Africa... yes, I live very close to it, only 14 km of separation between two worlds...

What about your weekend?

***

Punk

Other of my passions is punk. EVERYTHING related to punk. I love punk music, punk fashion, punk thinking... sometimes I think that I should have live in London on the 70's decade.
Vivienne Westwood is one of my favourite designers EVER. I knew about her when I was 14 years old and I started to read about the Sex Pistols (my favourite punk band; yes, maybe you think that it's a topic but I have always loved them). Her style caught me and stole my heart. She's always so great and original...

About music; yes, I love the Sex Pistols. And with the Sex Pistols, I mean John Lydon. I'm not one of those fanatic girls who sais that John Simon Ritchie (Sid vicious, you know him like that) was the best (I really believe that he was just a victim, anyway I'll write about him another day...)... I love that guy who was always screaming about politics and the disenchanted of society. I must say that I love Public Image Ltd, the band that he formed after Sex Pistols; it was very original.

The Clash, The Jam, Social Distortion, The Adicts, Die Toten Hosen, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sham 69, The Exploited, Misfits, Buzzcocks, Ramones, The Damned, Blondie (in her punk beginning), Dead Kennedys, Gang of Four, Generation X, Strangles, Vibrators, Ultravox... I've grown with all this music, and the fact is that no-one showed me, I discovered by myself; which sometimes is strange, because normally you listen to some kind of music from your parents, friends, brothers or sisters... but not in this case! One day I saw the Never Mind the Bollocks and just said... "for me"!

About the thinking, I must say that the real punk way of life is a little bit impossible today, but at the 70's it was a mood, a state of mind created by the disenchanted society in the UK. Yes, I know that the punk movement started at the NY City, but in that case, it was music; it doesn't contain any politic ideas or critiques towards the society; they were a group of young people having fun... but in the UK it was much more; they were angry... really angry... and so I am sometimes these days!
My destiny was punk...! But I'll talk about the skins & punk another day... (yes, the 60's skins is my other big influence!)

***

The Clash, The Jam, Social Distortion, The Adicts, Die Toten Hosen, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sham 69, The Exploited, Misfits, Buzzcocks, Ramones, The Damned, Blondie (en sus comienzos punk, aunque también me gusta su rollo disco), Dead Kennedys, Gang of Four, Generation X, Strangles, Vibrators, Ultravox...

Swastica

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruz_gamada

“It's a loser's emblem (swastika), because the Nazis lost the war. It's ridiculous to suggest we are involved with fascists. All my best friends are black, gay, Irish or criminals.”
- Johnny Rotten -

Y los míos también.

A John Simon Ritchie
