Back to Warsaw: around the Stare Miasto and the University Library

During my second day in Warsaw we were walking through the old town (stare miasto), where is one of my favourite sculptures ever: Warsaw's Mermaid. I wrote about her last time I was in Warsaw. We also walked on the Barbican and then took a walk along the river.

In my previous post I showed you a part of the Warsaw University Library; today I'll do a broader portrait of the place, as it's wonderful. The building was designed by the same architect of the Supreme Court, and like in that building, the roof is a beautiful garden full of nature, which gives fresh air to the urban structure.

Inside the building, the ceilings are huge windows where the sun shines even at this time of year, providing natural light and a great sense of space. I found lovely, really.

That night, we went with the gang to take a few cocktails at a fairly new restaurant in the city centre called Zamieszanie. They prepared and served drinks in cute bottles; some of them very strange. I tried one cocktail made with beet juice, which was delicious; and another mixed with gin, beer, champagne and ginger.

After the cocktail bar, we went to the Voodoo Club, on the outskirts of the city, where they performed a themed 90s party... we danced until very late and we had a blast!
