Some things before holidays...

Finally, it's the day! I'm going on holiday today, I need it; I'm very tired of working almost every day (mornings and evenings) and I feel that I need a rest.

But before leaving, I want to show you the Opera Cafe.

The Opera Cafe is the place where we normally take a coffee when we go out in the evening. It's a small place in the town centre that contains some cool and vintage stuff on its walls and where you can take a nice coffee and eat some cute cakes.

Rose and her sister Paula. Now Rose has got a piercing in her side mouth!

And this is me that day! I was wearing:
Handmade t-shirt (it's the Skin's Secret party Clown)
Putumayo's Skirt (well, one of the two pieces XD)
Calzedonia's socks (you can't see them but they're black with red glitter hearts)
Red rocking-horse shoes.
Offbrand belt.
Handmade accessories.

Well, today I'm leaving Algeciras just to travel into Barcelona; and tomorrow night we're travelling to Budapest; we're going to the Sziget Festival, and I must say that the main reason for me is just for seeing this band that I love: Maxïmo Park.

I love their work since their first album, but I couldn't see them before in concert... I'm so happy about this!
By the way, I'll meet there a girl called Nim; I met her in Flickr just because she commented at my Killers' album; she was at Lisbon too... and she's from Budapest! So we're meeting there, at Sziget Festival.

Tomorrow morning I'm meeting some of my friends at Barcelona, sweet Laia (the lovely author of Let Me Feel Like a Doll) and I are doing some shopping and then we're having lunch with the rest of the girls; that would be very nice!

And finally, the adorable Naka just tagged me for a blog award, THANK YOU, SWEETHEART!

I must write seven things about me, just in order that you all know something more from myself; so here we go:

1. I love vanilla ice cream.
2. I've got a piercing on my tongue.
3. I'm a psychologist and I work in an ONG.
4. I want to live in Sweden.
5. I love cooking (I can prepare an excellent curry!)
6. I'm reading right now "A song of Fire and Ice" saga.
7. I want to work as a coolhunter!

Now I must tag 7 people to do the same, but I really don't like tagging people, sometimes they get angry when I make this XD, and I think that everyone that I read deserves this price (you are all great :) ); so feel free of doing this!!

Well, I'll read your comments when I come back! Enjoy your summer!

Bye!

xoxo!

Quick Post: Hedi Slimane

Yesterday I was without computer because the memory didn't work, but today I fixed it, so this evening I would take some pictures (I'm taking coffee with Rose and tonight I'm having a customized paint shop fans).

But anyway, I want to share two things with you. First of all, do you know Hedi Slimane? I'm a very big fan of his work in desing and photography; he's simply great and his male's desings are SO elegant... yaw... (by the way, I LOVE men clothes, it's one of my fetish obsessions).

By the way... JOSH BEECH! YAW! I love him!

Quick post: vintages treasures!

Today at work I had a surprise: my beloved Rocío, one of my friends at the office, gave me a lovely old necklace made of black velvet; so when I arrived at home I search for other vintage treasures that I found yesterday searching for things that I wanted to customize.

Almost all of them were from the mother of my uncle Manolo; he gave me all those things for me just because he knew I would love them!

This old brooch and lace are almost from the beginning of the XX century. The brooch is lovey and I like it so much; but I don't know what can I do with the lace... any idea?

These two pieces are a pin with oriental engraves; it's too old too and it's a little bit broken, but still looking nice. The glasses are from my mother; they're broken and I have to fix them; I'm making something with lace for it.

I found this on a very old haberdashery; it was only 2 € and I couldn't resist it! It's perfect for the scarfs.

And this is the necklace that Rocio gave to me. I find it very beautiful.

By the way, yesterday night I made these two ribbons for my hair, I really like the red one, it's so colourful and cute!

And that's all for today!

A strange inspiration: Carnivale.

Yesterday I found my old vintage cage, full of great and old things; and I've been all the weekend seeing the TV Show "Carnivale", and I must say that I've enjoyed it very much.

The fact is that the serie show us a kind of vintage style that maybe it's less glamourous than what we're used too, but that I think it's quite interesting. You see, in the 30's, we used to imagine the vintage women that we're used to swee in cinema and old fashion magazines; but Carnivale shows us what I've called the "daily vintage" or something like that... if you look at the pictures, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I think that this is what I've most enjoyed about the series, the way they recreate the 30's style of the old USA's villages; it's so cool and realistic.

And searching more inspiration, I has a look to my beloved Vivian Leigh; I love this woman, she was so elegant...

And I found some other cool images for a total vintage inspiration look based on the 30's and 40's!

PD: Yes, I'm at work but as you can see, it's summer and I don't have much to do... so I'm very boring and I pass my time like this XD

I hope I could find a vintage shop at Budapest :D... I'm so sad that I couldn't buy anything in Lisbon, the shop I founded was real great :( but we were out of time... sigh!

Beer night and relax sunday

Yesterday night I went with some friends to "El Cairo", a pub in the town centre; I guess that I've told you about it before, I'm not quite sure. The point is that all the pub has got an old-British -colonial-Egyptian-style on it, and it's very cool! We had some beers (I had a pint of Paulaner, of course) and chatted about lots of things, like the live role-playing game we're preparing for the end of August!

Maria, Angie and Javi.

Juan, Patricia and his brother.

Party (we call him like that becaouse his surname, long story).

My lovely Jairo, oh-hoyeah!

One of the walls from the pub; it's a real old Kodak camera!!

By the way, this is what I was wearing.. as you can see, I've put a cartoon face over mine, that expresses perfectly the face I was at the photoshoot moment...

I was wearing an H&M dress, top shop socks (with candies) and Little Chili rocking-horse shoes.

Converse and rocking love...

These are the accessories that I was wearing; the strawberry is from Oysho and the rest is handmade by me!

And yes, my face... XD

Today I'll spend the day seeing "Carnivale" and making clay things... this is what I've made this morning; some necklace and a heart-shaped cookie ring... do you like it? The brown bunny is so cute! And the lollipop too!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!

Lunch ant work and foam party!

Yesterday we had lunch at work because two of our friends were leaving the office, so we did a small and cute party! We ate chips, cheese and a lovely cheese and ham pie that was delicious! And we had lots of drink too!

And then by night we went to a disco party at Jerez called "Fangoria". They were having a foam party, so we had a great time making crazy things and dancing between the foam. There weren't lot of people, but for me was perfect...

This is what I wore:

Blondie T-shirt from H&M
Shorts from Zara
Spike belt from Primark (it's very old!)
Leopard tighs from Calzedonia
Leopard necklace from a pet's shop XD
Chain belt from a pet's shop (more XD)

And the pictures...

My boots ended like this... wow XD

What about your weekend? I hope you all are having fun!

Sushi and cinema.

On Tuesday, I went to Estepona and we had lunch at a Japanese restaurant call Yamato, where you can eat in a buffet and they cook the food for you at the moment. We had tuna maki sushi, and salmon and Tamago sushi; gyozas, yakitori chicken... it was really nice; I love Japanese food and we had a lovely time. I went with Paula and Cris, two friends from my office... I want to repeat very soon!

Gyozas, so delicious!

This week I've been alone at home, and it was all very quiet; the only bad thing is that here is SO hot... 43ºC!! yes! Yesterday we had 43ºC!! I hope today it would be a little bit colder...

On Wednesday I had lunch with Rose, Jose and Jairo, "The Lisbon Team"; I cooked chicken curry, it was delicious! I'm pretty good cooking curry! Then, at night, we had a henna tattoo workshop. It was my first time making this kind of tattoos, but it was ok.

And yesterday we went to the cinema just for seeing "Up", the new Pixar's film. It's WONDERFUL, right now it's my favourite Pixar's film ever... so cute and beautiful!

I was wearing a black and white lolita skirt by Anna House; Little red ridding hood t-shirt by Stradivarius, black socks by Macmillan Alice and my white tea party shoes by Secret Shop. And almost all the accessories were made by myself with clay; I'm pretty good on it, do you like them?

Bonus picture nº 1: Rose & me making the freak in a very small carrousel.

Bonus picture nº 2: My Mando Diao's t official shirt! I love it!

And tonight we´re going to Fangoria (it's a disco at Jerez) for a party!! I'll take pictures!

Enjoy your Friday!

Useless things (quick and stupid post)

Nowadays there's plenty of social networks around the net. Some of them are fun like Facebook (for me Facebook is fun) but others are just silly... and I'm an addict to them! Like Twitter! I made an account recently and I didn't use it for two months.. and now, I'm using it a lot...

I leave you here all my "useless accounts": twitter, Facebook, Pouppegirl... add me if you want!

(And now, Libertad's useless things!)

* Facebook: Libertad Sahakiel

This, with my two blogs (here and the Metrobblogen one) are the things I use more... I'm leaving the links in my link's box...

By the way (and looking to Modepass), my friend Fernan told me about two more fashion communities that I must join... and as you can see, today I'm not so busy at work :)

I'll post later about my Japanese lunch on Tuesday! And as Laia reminds me, I must post my new Mando Diao's t-shirt too, yaw!!
