Just do it.

Just stop it okay. you always look so freakin' amazing in this adorable unique way. amazing.

This is a comment that this lovely girl left me on my Chictopia yesterday. And it makes me think a lot about it, really.

Maybe for all of you it's only the fact of saying "cute, lovely, I like it" when you see some of my outfits; but for me is more than this. I mean, I never wanted any kind of recognition or fame for my outfits; I know that they're not the "normal" outfits you see between fashion bloggers at all; and when some of you like the way I dress, it's really important to me.

I mean, I've always dressed as I wanted, but here in Spain and especially at Algeciras, people don't understand the way I used to do it (and so other people I know); so they used to blame me and shouted annoying things to me. Sounds stupid, sounds like if we were living in the Middle Ages, but it's true, and I'm sure that all of you have lived this at least once in your life.

So I had to learn how to do my ears like if I were deaf to this kind of comments, and continue to create my own style; which is really hard. It's hard when your friends don't understand you (almost all of them) when your boyfriend thinks that this is just "funny" and "ridiculous"; even your family finds this as something stupid. But it isn't.

Finding your own style and the way of being comfortable with yourself is really hard. For me, it is still, because there are sometimes when I don't like what I see in the mirror. But you must do it, because it's a part of your personality, of your personal development.

It's hard to find people who understand this kind of things. But I want to say to all of you that I do. So, don't be shy, and let the fashion being more than this, fashion itself. It's a way to express yourself, your feelings, your mood, your ideas. It's a way of being free.

I really would love to say these things to those people who laugh at you on the street. Because for me, this kind of people are sad, boring and has nothing better to do. And it shouldn't be like that.

So, to all of you, keep on going this great as always; and to Jerseyferrari; thank you, dear!

I'll try to do my best every day, I'll try to send this message always.

  1. I've always loved how you have your own individual style and I think it's amazing how you kept to it even when everyone around you thinks you're nuts:P

  2. My darling, I am constantly jealous of everything about you! You're so fabulously unique, friendly, loving, caring, not to mention interesting. I think those people just don't see how fantastic you really are. I have a pretty similar dress sense to you, and I get the same comments, so I know exactly how you feel.

I still admire you, so screw everybody else my girl!!

It would mean the world to me if you would check out my blog when you get a chance to.

  4. Sweetie,it's true, you must follow your heart and dress to express yourself.I used to get hell on the streets when I was a Goth, and still do at times, but like you, have learnt to tune it out.I just listen to the good comments-and there are plenty of those-and continue to go my way.Frocking up gives me the greatest pleasure, even though at times I worry about being "mutton dressed as lamb"as I am quite a bit older than most, certainly too old maybe to dress like a 5 year old,but fuck it,I wanna!!!
You rock!Friend sand family just have to accept that who YOU are,and that that affects how you look.

  11. I love how you dressed and the fact that you haven't let any awful comments put you down or make you change! The outfits are lovely in each photo you've shown in this post!

  12. Thanks for this post:) It really annoys me when people either stare, laugh or make snarky comments about what I'm wearing, simply because I'm not wearing the usual skinnies, uggs and vest top (there are tons of girls in my 6th form that wear that. every. single. day.) they evidently don't have any speck of creativity...

Your outfits stand out, but in the best way possible.. And it's about time someone wrote a post on this issue :)
