It's the Fashion R-Evolution! Fashion Pills Market!

As I mentioned in my previous post, last weekend Fashion Pills were organizing a flea market in Barcelona, right in their offices. On Saturday afternoon I went to see what goodies they offered ... and oh, so many little things!

First, the office was transformed into a flea market worthy of Portobello Road. There were lots of boxes with beautiful clothes, shoes to choose from, customizing clothes and even a bar!

Maxxie and Nuria treated me great, as always. In fact, Maxxie prepared me a gin and tonic with raspberry ... one of the most delicious things I've had in my life!

Of course, I bought a little something to show you soon, but here's a small sample of the clothes I bought for a very reasonable price!

The truth is we were very quiet because I was late but it was worth it! Oh, here you've got the recipe for pink lemonade too!

Later on, I had remained in the city centre to meet a friend who had just returned from Poznan, Poland. Here you have a couple of pictures of my look that day ... you will have quiet time to see it better soon!

Come as you are - Nirvana

Hi there! Today's a special day! My little corner in the blogosphere has finally reached the 500 followers by Google Friend Connect ... you cannot imagine the illusion for me about this, thank you very much! Soon we will celebrate in some way.

Funny, in my previous post I talked about all of the '90s and how 1994 was a year that changed my life for various events, like the death of Kurt Cobain ... and just today I saw a Kurt Cobain shirt at H&M! Oh, Kurt, if you rise from the grave!

The case, continuing around with the issue of 90, is that at that time I had an orange sweatshirt with silver details that I loved (very futuristic, very Shirley Manson in Version 2.0.), But suddenly I began to hate it because everyone started to wear that colour.

Little by little I wanted to be recovering the use of that colour, and for some time now I have this little orange skirt whose form I love. I thought, what better way to combine it with this beautiful shirt I designed for Fashion Pills & Vin Tee Couture, do you remember?

And speaking about Fashion Pills, this weekend they are holding a special event at their offices, both Friday and Saturday. I'll be there tomorrow from the 16'00h to tell everything that happens there ... hope to see you there!

But I used to close my eyes too and dream of being far away, like Jordan Catalano.

It was 1994 when my life changed, when 13 years old. That year lots of things happened to me.
I started reading Nietzche.

Kurt Cobain was found dead and I cried when I saw on the news. I run to the bathroom and locked the door and cry, cry, cry...

I was in love with The Smashing Pumpkins, 'cause in every little song, I felt they were talking about myself, from Spaceboy to Disarm.

I watched The Crow film and fell in love with that story...

And then, in 1995, I watched on Tv this show, 'My so-called life', about teenagers and their problems and everything that was happening to me and all the teens who watched the show too on that time. 'Cause, for being real, we've all got a little of Angela Chase inside us. And sometimes we all wanted to be a little bit wild like Rayanne and fell in love with Jordan Catalano.

But in the end, we all did the same question to ourselves: who am I? I was a little goth teen who used to listen to so much music, read tons of books and closed her eyes, dreaming of being really far away.

It was the 90s and I was running to find myself, looking in every mirror, and in every corner inside me. I fell in love with lots of guys, but I was really shy, and a goth teen... and I used to scared people when I talked to them, as I seem 'so smart for me' (they used to say). That's why I had few friends from my age at that time, 'cause they really didn't understand me at all; even my closest friends didn't do that.

I was running, looking for my future, looking for my life. I'm still looking for it. I still run. And I feel free about that, and about life; and I feel I can do whatever I want if I believe in me.

So Angela did. So YOU all can do.
Feel free.
Run.

Get back - The Beatles

Today I feel a little sad because for the time you read this I'll be back to Barcelona. After two weeks of total relaxation and off in Algeciras with my family and friends, now I must go back to routine ... and indeed, there isn't that return to the routine which saddens me, but the fact of not returning home until at least February next year. This is the problem of holiday and living away from home!

But I don't want this to be a sad post and I want to show a small restaurant in Algeciras that my mother took me which I left happy. It's called 'Abreboca' and is located in the Plaza Mayor of Algeciras.

The truth is that in their menu they have small food treats at great prices, and I was pleasantly surprised. We were able to enjoy a delicious foie gras with tomato jam as a starter, and then asked which is the local dish: lamb on crisp couscous base and cheese, with a delicious gravy!

 Cheesecake and greek yoghurt!
Tarta de queso y yogurt griego!

After lunch we were walking through the park for a while; my mother really liked the way I styled my hair that day. The day before I had found this beautiful pendant for just 1 € at Claire's, and did not hesitate to wear it ... looks like a really old piece!

 Dress - Forever21
Shoes - Stradivarius
Belt - Topshop
Pendant and hairpin - Claire's
Sunglasses - Blanco
Bag - Handmade

A few days before my mother had also bought some nice shoes in Blanco, in pink colour... they're beautiful!

Hope you are all enjoying the holidays and summer!

Summer music & teen love.

On these few days I've been at Algeciras (I'm leaving next Sunday, coming back to Barcelona) I've been listening to my old records here at home. Almost all my CDs are here, and it's nice always to come back and find them as you left.

I've got a huge collection of The Smashing Pumpkins CDs. It's my favourite band since I was 13 years old, and when I was a teenager I was always listening to them. If there were a band who could understand what was happening inside my head, that was The Smashing Pumpkins. I used to dress the way they did, read books about them, listened to the music that influenced them (that's how I discovered 'My bloody valentine', for example)...

In 1998, James Iha, a former member of SP; released a solo album that I really loved, 'Let it come down'. It's a small piece of music, with lots of love songs perfect for a rainy day. James Iha was my teenage love and, even today he's awesome for me! He released a new album this year, 'Look to the sky', and I hope he would come to Spain for a gig. It would be great to see him again.

He also has another musical project called Tinted Windows, who are pretty great too :)

Later on, I've been listening to another artist that really changed my life when I was a teenage: David Bowie.

I've been a Bowie fan since I was a little girl, as I was a great fan of Labyrinth film and I adored David's character, Jareth. When I grew up I started to listen to his music, especially to his Ziggy Stardust material.

Last week I watched the BBC's documental 'David Bowie and the story of Ziggy Stardust'. You should all watch it so you would understand an important piece of music's history. David, with Ziggy, changed the point of view about music, fashion and sexuality of the 70s.
